On Thursday, December 4th, 2025, Laura experienced sharp pains on her right side. After a series of tests, she was diagnosed with stage four Stomach Cancer, and the oncologist explained that her liver is a mess. The lab results showed numerous hepatic metastases lesions with target appearance, and her liver is so swollen with these metastatic masses that it is hard for her to breathe, laugh, or bend over. Despite everything, Laura remains very positive and has a high pain tolerance. The reality is that this situation is very serious, and our future is now focused on cherishing every single moment together.
We have begun the journey of twelve chemotherapy treatments, hoping to kill the cancer cells without taking Laura, my wife and mother, from us. Each night, I listen to the whistling sound as the chemo pumps its poison into her fragile body, constantly wondering what side effect could strike next. Now, I quietly check to see if she is still breathing, realizing how much we took for granted the simple things in life. Cancer is devastating, but love is not. Caring and sharing bring family and friends together, and that is priceless. This journey has given us a new focus on what life and living are all about—to be loved and to love.
So many people have shined their light in our darkest time, and it is intoxicating. Our family is facing a financial struggle, with more bills than money to cover them. We could use financial assistance to help with medical bills, loss of income, and daily expenses. We are trusting and hoping things will get better so we can focus on what really matters. We hope you will be blessed to be a blessing. We don’t know what the future will hold, but we are focusing on actions today and planning for tomorrow. Prayer is powerful because God is real. Thank you for your blessings and prayers.
