On September 29, Laura Roddy, a member of the Notre Dame High School (Utica, NY) Class of 1993, was involved in a serious bicycle accident. She sustained severe injuries and was airlifted by Mercy Flight to SUNY Upstate Medical Center, where she remains hospitalized and is currently undergoing rehabilitation. Laura will require 24-hour care and extensive therapy over the next several months.
If you know Laura, you know she is a selfless and kind-hearted person who has consistently dedicated her time and support to others. She is one of the most compassionate, humble, and loving individuals you could meet. Over the years, she has been a dedicated employee of Thea Bowman House, sharing her warmth and compassion with some of Utica’s most vulnerable children and youth in the hope of breaking the cycle of poverty through a structured program of educational and social enrichment. Laura has touched many lives in her service.
As she begins her recovery journey, Laura will need ongoing medical care and support to cover her treatment and rehabilitation expenses. Her family will be ensuring that she has the necessary care she will need to recover. We invite you to join us in supporting them as they care for Laura, someone who has cared so much for others.
Thank you for your prayers, your generosity, and your unwavering support during this difficult time.
Peace and blessings,
