Support Laura Hines' Cancer Journey
Donation protected
Laura Hines has dedicated her life to serving her community in law enforcement since 2004, working in Starkville, Tupelo, and eventually back home in Walnut, Mississippi. In 2018, while serving as the Walnut Chief of Police, Laura was involved in a car accident that resulted in a traumatic brain injury. Despite these challenges, Laura has shown incredible resilience.
In February 2024, Laura was diagnosed with stage 3 metastatic breast cancer. She is currently undergoing treatment at Baptist Hospital for Women in Memphis, and MD Anderson in Houston, which includes chemotherapy and an upcoming minimum of 30 days of radiation in Houston. Laura will need to make multiple trips to MD Anderson in the future for ongoing care. The travel and lodging expenses from Memphis to Houston are significant, and many of these costs are not covered by insurance. Laura is managing these challenges on her own, without the ability to work, making financial support crucial.
The Hines family have been pillars of support for others, hosting a trail ride for the past 25 years to benefit a large children's charity hospital in Memphis. Now, it's our turn to support Laura in her time of need. Your contributions will help cover her travel, lodging and incidental expenses, allowing her to focus on her treatment and recovery.
