As many of you may already be aware, our dear friend and BHS classmate Laura Hall Davis was diagnosed with salivary gland cancer in July of 2024. After two initial surgeries and two rounds of radiation, we’re heartbroken to share that this aggressive cancer persists and has metastasized to her lungs. Sadly, there is no chemotherapy protocol that is known to have significant effect against it, and her oncologist has indicated that her best path forward is to seek treatment at a large cancer center where clinical trials might offer a better chance of long-term survival.

Laura, a two-time breast cancer survivor, has maintained an incredibly positive attitude throughout treatment and continues to be that person who is always there for friends and family, regardless of her own circumstances. She has spent her entire life helping others — driving elderly neighbors to their appointments, raising money for animal rescue groups, volunteering at a local senior center, donating her time at Red Cross blood drives — the list goes on and on.

But now Laura needs our help, and it’s time for her to reap what she has sown in this life. Mounting out-of-pocket medical expenses cause financial strain and unnecessary stress. She has been approved for care at MD Anderson in Houston, and we don’t want travel expenses to stand in the way of potentially life-saving treatment.
