If you’ve had the pleasure of personally knowing or meeting Laura, then you know just how much heart, strength, grit, and generosity she brings to the world.

Besides being one of the hardest workers I know—and one of the best to ever strap onto a snowboard—Laura is the kind of person who always shows up for others. She is one of the most caring, thoughtful, and generous persons I know. She is a nurturer by nature, always tending to plants, animals, and humans alike. There’s a reason she is lovingly called “Mama Hades.”

From professional snowboarder to professional gardener, Laura has built a beautiful, quiet life in Colorado with her husband, Nicky, and their two rescue cattle dogs. She is also an accomplished mountaineer who set out to climb all of Colorado’s 14ers—and became the first woman to snowboard down every one of them.

Recently, Laura was diagnosed with breast cancer, with involvement in her lymph nodes. She is now facing a second surgery, followed by radiation and chemotherapy. As tough and resilient as Laura is, a diagnosis like this comes with an enormous physical, emotional, and financial burden. Now it is our turn to stand beside her. The funds raised will help Laura cover treatment costs, integrative care, and everyday living expenses so she can stay afloat while putting her energy where it belongs: toward healing, beating cancer, and recovering.
