Support Laura Everhart's Cancer Battle

BIOPSY RESULTS: High Grade dysplasia. Positive for Squamous Cell Carcinoma.

I have cancer. Officially.

My name is Laura Everhart. I am a paraeducator at my daughters school. I absolutely love my job. I used to be a CNA and took care of the elderly through the end of their lives. I've met so many beautiful people and have had the privilege to care for them.

Now I'm unfortunately needing some care.

Back in 2019 I noticed a white patch on my tongue. After many obstacles I had it biopsied and it came back negative for cancer. The doctor called it Lichenoid Keratosis of the tongue. Essentially a callous on my tongue.

Fast forward to now. I started having severe pain in my mouth and noticed the spot had gotten even bigger and changed significantly. I again have been put through many obstacles and mazes trying to navigate getting checked out again.

I was finally seen by an Oral Maxillofacial Surgeon who said he's very sure I have Oral cancer. He took a biopsy and we are waiting for results.(posted)

Regardless if this is cancer or not.... I am going to have to undergo a major operation to reconstruct my mouth. I will spend time in ICU, radiation/chemo, and unfortunately be missing work for a wile as well as being away from my family for a bit too. I'm so so scared and I hate that. I hate putting all the burden on my husband most of all.

We need help. Medical and non medical Bills and food cost are a major major worry right now. If anyone can give anything at all....I would be forever greatful. I hate asking for help because I'm so used to being the helper. This is alien to me.

But I again, would be forever greatful and blessed if anyone could help my husband and I keep ourselves afloat wile all of this is going on.
