Support Laura Brown's Final Journey

Lets help Laura Brown!

Laura has been a light in the lives of so many. Whether working in the medical field or serving with a smile at Applebee’s, she has touched countless hearts across northern Michigan. Her energy is contagious, and anyone who knows Laura knows that you can’t help but feel uplifted in her presence.

Sadly, her time with us is running short. In 2019, Laura was diagnosed with breast cancer. She faced it head-on with strength and determination, enduring 14 months of grueling chemotherapy and radiation. This forced her to step away from her weekend bartending job, but she fought through it, and by January 2021, she went into remission. For 20 months, she lived without symptoms and embraced life fully once again. But in November 2022, everything changed.

After a sudden illness, Laura was hospitalized and doctors discovered that she had developed Acute Myeloid Leukemia (AML), a devastating form of cancer caused by her previous cancer treatments. The prognosis was grim, and aggressive treatments like a bone marrow or stem cell transplant offered little hope. Laura chose a low-dose chemotherapy option and went into temporary remission in March 2023. But her health never fully recovered, and she had to make the heartbreaking decision to leave her beloved job in the medical field.

This October, Laura received the crushing news that her cancer had returned, and it is now terminal. She is receiving only palliative care as she faces the final stage of her journey. To add to her burdens, Laura recently had to move, and she discovered that her life insurance policy had been canceled without her knowledge over a year ago. Now, on top of everything else, she faces financial uncertainty in her final months.

Laura is not one to ask for help, but she deserves to spend her remaining time in peace, free from the stress of financial worries. We are asking for donations to help cover her funeral and burial expenses. Any additional funds will go toward her bills and her final wishes.

Laura has always been there for others. Now, in her time of need, let’s come together to be there for her. Every donation, no matter the size, will make a world of difference.

Please consider giving to help ease her burden and offer her some comfort and peace during these last months of her life.
