My name is Laura Moody. I am a resident of Franklin County. On August 13th, 2025, I lost my family in a tragic way. My mother Teresa, sister Leah, and brother Derek were taken from us. My mother had a stroke and an aneurysm four years ago and recently had knee surgery and was recovering from it. She battled hard and was on the road to recovery. She had just started a new chapter in life. She always took care of us even when she was in bad health herself. Leah, my sister, was such a kind soul. She was a sweet and caring person. She loved her cats (Harry & Comet). Derek, my brother, was a good person. A good person who was battling things inside that we didn’t know about. Derek lost this battle and my family was taken. This was very unexpected and my family as of right now we dont know if my mom had insurance but I know Leah and Derek didn’t. I am asking the community to help me with cremation/burial expenses (to be determined). Me and my older brother brad are the only surviving immediate members of my family and I never thought this weight would be mine to carry. If you can’t donate, please share. Anything helps.
