Help Latonya and Her Boys Start Fresh After Hardship

Life has thrown more at Latonya than most people could handle, but she's met every challenge with quiet strength and faith.

In 2016, a fire destroyed her family's home. She and her husband began rebuilding their lives from scratch. But before they could fully recover, tragedy struck again when her husband passed away, leaving her a widow and the sole provider for her three sons.

Since 2023, Latonya and the boys have been staying with a close friend while she worked, studied, and tried to rebuild stability. She's now working steadily and enrolled in a GED program, determined to set an example for her children.

All three boys are proud members of the Oconee Community Mentoring Association (OCMA), where they're thriving in school, learning leadership, and giving back to the community.

Now, they finally have the chance to move into a two-bedroom apartment of their own. To make that possible, we're asking our extended OCMA family, friends, and community partners to help raise $2,500 by November 1, 2025.

These funds will go toward:

• First month's rent and security deposit

• Basic furnishings and household essentials for the boys

• Small start-up items to help them make this apartment a true home

Every dollar helps, whether you can give $10 or $100; it moves this family closer to stability and peace.
