La'Shon, 3 years old, is fighting a rare brain tumor. We are looking for help to get Shon to and from doctor's visits, testing, assistance with bills, and any adaptive equipment needed along the way. As a single mother of two, WE NEED YOUR HELP! This has put a tremendous financial burden on our family.

His fight has been ongoing all his life. At 6 weeks old, he had his first seizure, followed by many hospital stays and lung infections. Swallowing issues also arose. It wasn't until he was 21 months old that they found his brain tumor. Being a non-verbal, energetic toddler, we were told his tumor was not causing symptoms of autism. He was then diagnosed with autism. We were told his tumor was a fatty mass with no harm, so we left it in and watched and waited. His mama was impatient and found a hospital to remove it in January of 2024. Shon's tumor turned out to be an angiocentric glioma vs. diffuse astrocytoma, a very rare find. He woke up from surgery speaking! A miracle, a sign of hope!

A scan in November 2024 showed some blood particles, but his surgeon was sure this was a mistake. His MRI was pushed out 18 months! Mama took action again and found someone to listen. Soon after, Shon developed vision problems. He has loss of vision patches. This made no sense as his tumor wasn't near that part of the brain. Angiocentric gliomas are rare and shouldn't come back after being fully removed, but Shon's case is different. He now has a new spot deep in the surgical cavity. He requires multiple forms of testing and possibly surgery. He is under the care and collaboration of three children's hospitals, all of which are hours and hundreds of miles apart.

We need some help to get there, with gas, hotel stays, and fun along the way to keep him smiling and ready to fight. Kids heal from laughter and positive thoughts. I'm a single mom of two, and I've done it all alone with very little help along the way. At this time, during this fight, I need some help. To my local friends and family, help me with a sitter, resources I haven't explored, play dates to make him smile, accompany us to an appointment so we don't face this alone. Come pray with us. We don't know what the future holds.

UPDATE 8/25/2025

Full update. Shon was diagnosed with

Focal epilepsy with impairment of consciousness, intractable. The spot in his motor cortex is being classified as a Brain tumor, recurrent, low grade cancer. Due to the rare original tumor, there is no target radiation. He also has Hemi-neglect of right side. The tumor is causing the lack of mobility of right side. There is no safe way to remove it without paralyzing him on the right side. Chemo will likley not work. The degree of how paralyzed he will be can be explored when the tumor is worse. Right now we will watch it closely and wait. For my child i chose "Quality over Quantity" if the surgery is going to cause full right side paralyzing including function of brain, vocal cords, and stomach, we will let the tumor take its corse. I share this because there is a high chance. Family and friends spend time with him. We have a few really good months left before surgery or tumor take its course. Invite him to birthday parties, play dates. If you can please donate. But always keep him in your prayers. God works miracles and we need one!!

Based on new findings his follow up MRI has been moved from Jan 2026 to OCT 2025. Where he will go before the tumor board for a decision.
