This my story I met my husband nearly 40 years ago, I knew he was the one for me, for the rest of my life. Larry has been my rock and here I am trying to be his rock. I'm lost, confused and trying my best to be that good wife. Larry has had back problems his whole life and just in the last year his back has been getting worse. This pain Dr who gave him this medicine to help ease the pain (which really didnt help at all) He tried to contact the Dr's office and they kept telling and cancelling his appointments. He tried telling them that the pain medicine didnt help. The pain kept getting worse and worse. This past Oct. he would walk around our home with a cane. Sometimes when the pain was so excruciating for his back and left leg. Then comes a couple of days before Christmas, he fell, not once, not twice but 3 times in our home. Withing a 3 hour time frame. I took him to the hospital and they gave him some pain pills and nothing after that. The pain pills weren't that strong for his back and leg. Again in so much pain, that he could barely walk. The Monday after Christmas he had a Dr appointment and I told him, you need to call 911 and have them take you to the hospital. He went to the hospital and was there for almost 2 weeks. He had to have some serious back surgery. 40 staples in the back and in the front (yes front) 20 staples. He is having a bad time learning how to walk again. Sure he is old (73) and trying so hard to be strong while I'm falling apart, trying to help him. I work and wont always have the time to take care of Larry while I'm at work. I'm afraid that he might fall, when I'm not home. I need to get a ramp built for our home so that I can get hinm outside , in case of an emergency. I would prefer an aluminum ramp for the front door area. and need the back door staircase all brand new (yes it's falling apart too), I'm just trying to make our home safe for him. I know what what I want and hopefully not too expensive. Since now he is out of work and his retirement really isnt that much. I do work and it really isnt that much I make BUT I do love the work I do. I am a caregiver and adore the 2 ladies I work for. I just need help getting a ramp and the back door stairs. to make life a little easier for Larry . I just need a little help, please.
