- This is mine and my husbands life for the last year and half. So we moved back to Covington so my husband larry could start a new job and for 4 years everything was going great. Till a few horrible accidents happened and here is how our life has went since then. One day after me and my husband got home from work and our youngest son got home from school it was sunny and beautiful outside. And shortly after arriving home a storm was coming in fast. It started raining and in no matter of time maybe 15 minutes past and all hell broke lose. It sounded as if a train was headed our way. Next we know a tornado was at our front door. When the storm passed and i thought it was safe i went outside and man was my mind blown. Looked like a war zone. All i could smell and see was tress everywhere. We had become completely surrounded with down tress. Our home made it out safe but our shop had a huge tree on the front of it our pole barn was completely smashed and our fence on all sides was covered with tress. We went 5 days with no power in January so it was freezing. We were blocked in our home for 4 days.we were hungry because we only had so much food you could eat with out cooking it. Its now more than a year later and our property is still damaged and covered with trees. Our home insurance company didn't want to cover all that damage and didn't help much at all. Shortly after the tornado they went out of business. So with all the trees down alot of growth has happened and insurance company now said they cant do nothing till all the growth is cut down so with no money we are stuck there. Our home has become a huge ground for all kinds of creepy crawling things and wildlife. Here's the next thing to happen. The company where my husband worked fired him unfairly. Due to reasons i can't discuss because it involves someone else's story. So my husband and I started our own small company doing millwright work which is what my husband has been doing for 30 plus years. We were doing good for a few months you know just getting started. And then another horrible accident happened. My husband was delivering some bollards to the company who we did the work for and my husband had been rear-end 2 time by the same person. My husband called me and said you need to come I've been in a accident. My heart dropped. I rushed to him and he wasn't great. So we went to the hospital and they said he was just sore from being hit so hard twice. The hospital was so wrong. Later that day I realized something was horribly wrong and it wasn't just soreness from the accident. He was in so much pain that he couldn't handle it anymore. And hes a very tough guy. So we went to a different doctor and got xray scans and mri. And we found out a horrible truth. That his entire neck is comprised. Every disk in his neck has been shoved forward and is putting alot of pressure on his spinal cord. It's so bad that he cant have another accident of any kind even a fall can paralyze him or worse. Thats not the only thing that happened his lower back was injured as well. Multiple disks in his lower back also was shoved forward cause massive back pain and also compromised his spinal cord. That day in the accident my husbands life changed for ever. The doctors say that the surgery he needs to fix his neck alone is so dangerous. They said they can fix it but he could be left in more pain then he's in now or he could become paralyzed or worse. And that the surgery is 500,000 dollars. And we can't afford it but all the horrible outcomes from surgery is so risky. He has decided not to do the surgery because he doesn't want to lose what mobility he has left. so he is left in so much pain ever single second of every day is something I cant begin to understand. I feel so bad for him. We got a lawyer and sued the man responsible for the accident. But the state we live in said they can't and won't sue past what the insurance company covers on the insurance. Unless he died or lost a limb. My husband got a little of nothing to compensate for all his hurt and pain. And now my husband is stuck with so much pain and loss. My husband is so bad that he cant stand for long periods of time with out his whole body shacking from pain and damage to his spin. I have to help him with everyday things like a shower food and putting his clothes on. The life he knew is gone and now he's stuck with a painful one. He cant do husband or dad things anymore. His only life now is to lay in bed and try to not hurt worse then what he's in. He is now disabled. And trying to get help from the government takes so long. We are struggling so bad. I can't get a job because I have to take care of him all day. We are struggling to keep our home. We have no family that lives close. so we are alone. Life just hasn't be so great to our family for so long. With life changing just didnt effect my husband and son but changed for me as well. I'm keeping my head up being the only one able to keep our family together and safe and take care of I'm suffering alot alone myself. I'm having to get food from food banks and sometimes its not all that good. We are having problems paying our bills and getting food. All this isn't easy. So I'm asking for what ever to pay our bills and buy groceries. And to pay my husbands medication and doctor visits. My husband has always been the provider of our family and hes going through alot of emotional stuff being he cant provide anymore. I wish that things can get better for us so he at least doesn't have that hanging on his shoulders also. Man life just hasn't been fair to us for many years now.
