Meet Larry, my family’s one year old Great Pyrenees mix. Larry was adopted from Bradshaw Animal Shelter in April 2025 after my dad saw him and fell in love instantly. If you know my dad, you know he has the biggest heart when it comes to animals in need, and sees his dogs as his kids. Larry was born with a condition called Double-Merle; an unfortunate genetic defect caused by breeding two Merle coated dogs with each other. Sadly, his condition is likely what caused him to be abandoned as a puppy. As a result of his condition, Larry is mostly deaf and blind. He has limited vision in one eye, and his other eye is severely underdeveloped. As he’s gotten older, it’s become clear that he needs surgery to remove the underdeveloped eye and replace it with a plate to improve his quality of life and protect him from future health issues. This is an expensive surgery and our family would greatly appreciate any help we can get to fix up Larry’s eye! The surgery will cost $4,000 and is scheduled for January 5, 2026. Please donate or share to help Larry!
