Support Larry Wurst's Battle Against Cancer

Donation protected

Hi, my name is Liz and I'm looking to raise money for my dad, Larry Wurst. He is an amazing dad to three kids (Myself, Matthew, and Rachel). He is equally an amazing Papa to his two sweet grandsons (Hunter and Tucker) and an incredible husband to his wife, our mom (Geraldine). As far back as I can remember, he has always been one to help others without hesitation in any way he can, sometimes more than he was able to at times. It's never mattered if he had to struggle for a bit as long as he could lend that helping hand to make someone's day or week better. Yet my dad has never asked for anything back regardless

of what is was or if he was struggling. He is truly the most selfless person I know.

On Monday, December 30th, 2024, he was getting out of his Yukon like any normal day. As soon as he stepped out, he fell to the ground and was transported to Austin via ambulance. They found that he shattered his femur on his left thigh. Austin then transferred him to Mankato. Once at Mankato, they did a scan and found it was a severe break and needed to be transferred to Rochester. On Tuesday, they found a lesion by the break. Once transferred to Rochester, they broke the news that the lesion on his bone was cancerous. They did a PET CT and found a couple more spots on the lower back. He has been diagnosed with Multiple Myeloma (MM) Cancer. The cancer had been eating away at his bone, causing it to shatter. He had surgery on Thursday, January 2nd to repair his femur and to remove as much of the cancer as they could on and around the bone. He was finally released home on Thursday, January 9th. He will be starting his

treatment in roughly 3 weeks as his Oncology team would like him to regain some strength first.

Our family has a tough, long road ahead of us to recovery. Anyone who knows Larry knows how much of a strong, stubborn man he is. The money raised will be put towards medical bills, traveling expenses, PT and OT therapy, radiation, medications, etc., and lost wages, especially since our mom, his wife (Geraldine), will be his full-time caretaker, causing a loss of her wages as well. Anything helps, God bless.
