To Help Debbie With Her Last Brother’s Funeral Arrangements

Hi my name is Anthony Funderburg. I’m gonna give you as much information as I can. The best that I can. Wednesday, September 17. We lost a very dear member of our family My Uncle Larry Secrest he was 60 years old. He had a heart of gold he was very shy yet great with people and loved children especially his nieces and nephews .He loved Classic Cars and had owned many himself at one time 1979 Oldsmobile Cutlass’s, 1987 Chevy Camaro Every Car had to have a stereo system it was an absolute necessity. He loved Motorcycles and Dirty bikes 2 but His family meant the most to him in this world Unfortunately Family started to change in sad way. Starting with the loss of his father Richard Secrest. Larry was still pretty young when he lost his Father Larry immediately took on the role of taking care of his mother Laverne Secret. During that period of time Larry also lost his Brother Richard Secrest Larry took that very hard and so did mom Larry continued to take care of his mother and try to resume a normal lifestyle. Unfortunately once again Larry ended up losing another brother Robert Secret. We all hurt we all suffered but poor Larry he held a lot in because he didn’t want his mama to see her baby boy suffer. (such a great son) He picked up the pieces and tried to carry on the best that we could a few years later. Larry ended up losing yet another brother Levern Secrest it was so sad because grama and Larry along with the whole family had lost so much family already. Wayne and Debbie and aunt jean & even aunt Kathy did what she could . Grammas health was deteriorating and my mom Debra was a warrior in fighting for her mom and so was Larry and unfortunately once again we were about to lose another dear family member our Grandma Secrest. Larry’s Mother I believe that was what spiraled Larry into a dark road that none of us thought he would travel down. Larry lived a clean life and never drank alcohol or used substances to help him with battles. At first we were unaware of his struggles with drugs and alcohol. He was trying to numb the pain. The a few yrs later we lost our beloved one aunt Jean baker Secrest our family has lost so much! Out of 8 children only 2 left all the boys passed between Ages of 40 & 60 Larry was the baby My mom raised him for the most part on top of everything before losing Larry we lost my Brother Benjamin Funderburg to suicide. My moms lost so much. Larry didn’t have any life insurance. If any one could help in any way possible! It would lift a huge weight off my poor mom that was her baby brother she pretty much raised him since age 8 it was her one surviving brother. It would mean the world to her if she could give him a proper service & resting place. The family has no funds at this time and is reaching to anyone with a kind heart to help the family with burial also funds can be donated to Everest funeral home in Muskegon Michigan.
