My name is Adam Kennedy. I am the very proud son-in-law of Larry Matteson. In coordination with Candi Kennedy and Jennifer Matteson and many of his close family, we are asking for your thoughts, prayers and your support.

Larry recently went into urgent care with what seemed to be a mundane fever. That fever very quickly has turned into a fight for his life. We are hoping for your help and support for what will most certainly be a long road.

Larry has been through two open-heart surgeries in the past. The most recent was 10 years ago. It's been determined that the valves used in that surgery have developed an infection that has spread through his body. This has caused bleeding throughout the body, most significantly affecting his brain and causing a stroke.

He has been transferred to Saint Luke's Hospital in Milwaukee for continuous testing, monitoring by the best care team, and ultimately, will require additional surgery.

As you can imagine, the mental and emotional strain on the family is great. The financial burden of daily travel, hotel stays, and daily out-of-pocket expenses are an additional stressor on top of everything else—on top of the expected expenses of current and future medical expenses.
