Support Larry & Annie After Motorcycle Accident

Donation protected
On Sunday, January 11th, 2026, Larry and Annie set out for their usual motorcycle ride, enjoying the day together. Tragically, their ride took a sudden turn when Larry lost control on the Ewa Beach exit, causing both to be thrown from the bike-Annie to one side of the road and Larry to the other. Thankfully, both were wearing full protective gear, and an ambulance arrived quickly to help. Despite the gear, Larry lost movement and feeling from the neck down, even though no bones were broken. He underwent emergency surgery that same day to fuse his C2-C5 vertebrae with rods and screws. Annie, fortunately, escaped with bruises and scratches and is physically okay. Larry now faces a long road to recovery. While he is already showing small signs of improvement, like being able to wiggle his legs and toes, the journey ahead will require extensive rehabilitation and support. The timing of the accident has added extra stress, as Larry was supposed to start a new job the very next day. With rehab care covered for only the first four months, the family is preparing for much longer-term needs and financial challenges. Annie is spending much of her time at the hospital, supporting Larry through every step of his recovery. In addition to the medical and living expenses, Larry and Annie are facing the reality that receiving disability insurance benefits is a long process. There is a mandatory five-month waiting period before Social Security Disability Insurance (SSDI) begins, with benefits paid in the sixth full month after the disability starts. This means the family must manage without this crucial support for several months, adding to the financial strain during an already difficult time. Any support-whether through donations, visits, or prayers-is deeply appreciated as they navigate this difficult time. Thank you for standing with Larry and Annie and offering hope for their healing journey.

Update: Larry is now at Rehab of the Pacific in Kuakini Rm 303. Visitors are welcome!
