Support Larra's Recovery and Newborn

My name is Lauren - I’m a nurse practitioner in Indiana, and I had the pleasure of helping this sweet lady, Larra, prepare for her baby. Larra and her fiancé have worked so hard. They wanted to provide a good home for the baby and, at the time, were living in a motel/have been homeless before.

But mom and dad pulled together for the baby, worked full-time jobs, and they were able to get an apartment all by themselves!!! We had everything ready for the baby until the unthinkable happened. Larra went in for an emergency C-section and developed an amniotic fluid embolism, which is so rare - she coded. It was beyond scary! She was transported to St. Vincent Indy Trauma ICU, had another surgery, and is now recovering.

They have everything they need for the baby due to state programs and also very generous personal donations of baby items by my amazing friends!!!

But rent is coming due for December, and they may lose the apartment. $500 is all they have left that is needed to pay, but any extra would help with future months!!!

While I’m pushing for Larra to heal and rest/be with the baby, she is trying to convince doctors to release her back to work early, in which she keeps getting told no - she needs to heal!
