Larcina is a devoted mom, a hardworking medical assistant at Carle, and the kind of person who shows up for others without hesitation. On December 16th, her life changed in an instant when she received the shocking diagnosis of Acute Myeloid Leukemia (AML). That same night, she was admitted through the ER and transferred by ambulance to the University of Chicago Hospital to receive the specialized care she urgently needed. This week, Larcina learned she will begin three different forms of chemotherapy starting today, December 23rd, and will remain hospitalized in Chicago for a month or more.

Larcina is strong, but she cannot fight this battle alone. As a single mom, she is deeply concerned for her children—Ray (25), who is now carrying the weight of caring for his younger sister, Leiyanna (11), while also managing everyday responsibilities at home. This incredible family has always given so much, and now they need a village to surround them with support. Funds raised will help ease the financial burden of medical expenses, travel, household needs, and caring for Leiyanna during this long and difficult road ahead.
