**Help Me on My Journey to a Liver Transplant and Recovery**

Hi, my name is Lara, and I was born with two rare diseases—Congenital Hepatic Fibrosis and Polycystic Kidney Disease. These conditions often occur together, and I've been managing complications from a young age, such as low platelets, which cause easy bruising and bleeding, and an enlarged spleen. Throughout my childhood, I endured several endoscopies, and for a while, things seemed stable.

However, in 2024, my health took a severe turn, and I’ve battled sepsis seven times in one year. After the third episode, my liver specialists informed me that I would need a liver transplant, and thankfully, I’m a candidate for a living donor transplant.

This past year, I've spent a significant amount of time in the hospital, and as I approach the time for my transplant, I am preparing for a long road to recovery. After the surgery, I’ll be facing at least six months of recovery and will need to take several medications for quite some time afterwards as well as taking immunosuppressants for life to ensure my body doesn’t reject the new liver.
