My name is Reomie, and I’m the mother of a strong, loving, and determined woman—Laquisha. She’s a devoted single mother to my 6-year-old granddaughter, Sloane, a bright, joyful little girl who adores her mom more than anything in the world.

Last fall, our family received devastating news: Laquisha has been diagnosed with Triple Negative Breast Cancer (TNBC)—an aggressive and fast-growing type of breast cancer. I have been by her side as she has undergone intense chemotherapy for the past 6 months. Laquisha is now preparing for the first of what may be several surgeries and continued treatment.

As her mother, I’ve watched Laquisha give everything she has to raise Sloane on her own. She’s done it with grace, strength, and love—even when it wasn’t easy. Now, she’s fighting not just for her life, but for the chance to continue being there for Sloane through all the important moments still ahead: school plays, birthdays, bedtime stories, and simple everyday hugs.

But this fight comes with a heavy financial burden. Being out of work during recovery, covering out of pocket medical costs, and still caring for a young child—it’s simply too much for one person to bear alone.

We are asking for help so that Laquisha can focus on healing and being the mom Sloane needs.
