Support Lanita in thriving through cancer treatments

My name is Jennifer Magnano and I am a close friend of Lanita's. Over the last several years, our dear friend, teacher and earth sibling has recovered from breast cancer twice. As her community, many of us have watched her rise and rise again in the face of adversity. Our goal as her friends and family is to see Lanita not only survive this diagnosis, but thrive through it. One of Lanita's personal goals is to walk through this experience with grace, with both beauty and joy in sight.

This is Lanita's third diagnosis of breast cancer. Unlike previous experiences, the breast cancer is now showing up in her pelvic bones with noticeable bone loss. While we are immensely grateful that it is in a controlled region with no metastasis to any other areas, there is still a lot of love and support necessary for Lanita to receive her treatments and maintain day-to-day expenses. This is where you come in, beautiful humans!

We need to raise funds to go towards Lanita's living and out-of-pocket health expenses for her highest and best journey with cancer. Since re-diagnosis in August 2024, Lanita's wise and thoughtful doctor has advised oral chemotherapy, radiation treatments and injections for restimulating the growth of bone, alongside holistic therapies. Because most of us know the benefits of natural interventions, we also know that these are all out-of-pocket expenses. These expenses will include everything from the actual herbs and remedies to consultations with professionals whom know cancer inside and out.

** Lanita will begin daily radiation on September 23rd. Her oral chemotherapy has been ordered and will begin shortly alongside the injections to stimulate bone growth. **

Beyond her daughter Bayley, Lanita has an expansive and generous community that we are depending upon for support. We (her closest friends) believe this is a natural and normal experience of humanity - that we lean on one another through it all. As Lanita walks with and through cancer, you can expect that we will update you with how she is faring and her financial needs as often as we can. In addition, there will be local fundraisers (a few are already in the works) to benefit Lanita. These too will be posted here.

As a note of and from love, please know that this is a challenging experience for Lanita to balance with her incredibly sacred and life-giving work in equine-assisted coaching, yoga and more. If you choose to reach out to Lanita (which she would love), we ask for grace as depending on the day, it may take her a little bit to get back with you. Regardless, we feel certain that you will know how meaningful it is that you are here bearing witness to this rite of passage, of sorts.
