Support Lane’s battle with TOF and RSV

As many of you know, baby Lane was born with tetralogy of fallot - a rare congenital heart condition made up of four different defects. Despite the odds, Lane was born a “pink” tet and was doing great with the hopes of first surgical repair being around 4-5 months when he would be stronger. Unfortunately, the day after Christmas Lane was life flighted to CHOP and is critically ill in the CICU fighting for his life after a diagnosis of RSV. RSV is deadly to TOF babies and has complicated Lane’s situation. Our sweet baby is currently sedated, intubated, and receiving life-saving treatment. Becca and Justin are two of the most selfless people in the world, they would do anything to help anyone all the while never asking for anything in return. The amazing doctors at CHOP are now thinking replacing Lane’s pulmonic valve may be the best option for him. The first step being a procedure involving a stent to increase the blood flow through the valve. With everything up in the air Becca and Justin are at Lane’s bedside and unable to work. It is absolutely killing me that my world is still spinning while theirs is at a complete halt. On top of everything, Becca is at risk of losing their medical benefits if she does not return to work. If I can do anything at all, my wish is to lessen their financial burden because the last thing either of them need to worry about right now is how they will pay their bills. Our family appreciates any help at all, even a prayer, a share, kind words.

Thank you,
Sarah

Update #1 : Lane had a stent placed in his pulmonary artery, in hopes to increase blood flow thus increasing his body’s ability to oxygenate blood. The procedure was successful!!!! Now we hope and pray that his numbers improve. The doctors are planning to restart tube feeds tonight to get some nutrients into this strong little boy.

Best case scenario would be for Lane to come home to gain strength until he is strong enough for a valve replacement. Which will be the first of several surgical repairs he will unfortunately need. He is kicking RSV’s butt, thank you all so much!

Update 1/8/25: Lane has been extubated and has been receiving high-flow oxygen therapy with intermittent need of CPAP. He is receiving most feeds through a feeding tube, and overall has been quite unhappy with everything going on ): the most important thing is that he has remained stable and his numbers are hopeful. He is still admitted to the CICU and unfortunately we don’t have too much to update. Becca and Justin are still at Lane’s bedside and will continue to be for the foreseeable future. We are absolutely blown away by the kindness, love, and support our family has ❤️
