One of our fellow baseball boys has really been going through it lately. Lane Gray of the WTX Empire baseball team was recently diagnosed with POMS (pediatric-onset multiple sclerosis). What started as a big tremor in Lane’s left arm progressed to mixing up his words, tripping over his own feet, extreme fatigue, and forgetfulness. He traveled to Dallas for answers, got diagnosed, and also received a second opinion from another Dallas medical center. His prognosis is good so far, but MS will come in cycles, and during active flares it affects his strength and balance enough that he cannot play baseball.
This has already affected more than just the game he loves. Lane recently broke his arm because the arm affected by MS was not strong enough to squeeze his bike brake. Even with everything he is facing, he has the biggest heart, the best outlook on life, and still plans to play in the MLB one day.
This fundraiser is to help with medical bills and upcoming travel expenses for follow-up care. Another trip back to Dallas is coming up soon.
We want to support a fellow baseball player and baseball family during this difficult time. If you are able to donate or share this fundraiser, it would mean so much. Your support can help ease the cost of Lane’s care and travel while he keeps pushing forward through this diagnosis.
