Support Landyn's Road to Recovery after Car Accident

Hello!

I'm Samantha and I have an amazing 9 year old boy, Landyn.

On the morning after Christmas, we were in a terrible car accident with a vehicle that lost control going around a sharp curve. His vehicle skidded sideways into the front of my car.

I was okay, some bumps bruises, hematomas and stitches. No broken bones. A few scraps on the face and stitches on the hand from the airbag.

But my sweet boy, Landyns seatbelt completely snapped his humerus bone in half, and dislocated his shoulder. We were there from 12/26-12/29. While there, he had X-rays that confirmed the break and dislocation, CT scan, which showed what appeared to be a slight herniated diak, which lead to him being immobilized for 2 days with a neck brace on until we could get and MRI. Thank goodness his disc and spine are okay, and no internal bleeding or brain trauma.

They considered doing surgery, but decided they were going to try putting him in a weighted cast to bring the bones closer together to try and heal properly. While Landyn is well on his way to recovery, it's going to be a long road and we're looking at some surgeries in his future if this weighted cast is not successful.

Of course I'm a single mom, I have supportive family and friends and a great job family, but on the financial side of things, I am very worried about what we will do.

Work has to stop, causing income to stop, but the bills will not. I will be off work on FMLA taking care of my son ..my car is a total loss, we are both insured, but insurance only goes so far when your car is worth about what you owe on it.

After talking with my claim investigator today my car had $2,210 and some change left on it payment wise. They offered a cash value price including taxes and title transfer equaling $2,490.85. I of course have a $500 deductible. Which means my insurance is only going to pay $1,990.85 but since I have gap insurance it will all be paid off but there is nothing left.

Im asking for help getting the $3600 because that's 2 months worth of my wages from work..I don't know if I will be off longer, but I know it will be tax time in a couple months, and that can be my safety net til he's okay enough to go back to school.

I know that we have a lot of people who love and care about us and we will continue to share updates on our story and how everything is going.

My son has been so brave. So strong.

Anything is appreciated, even a share. Thank you so much! Be safe.
