Support Landon's Gender Affirming Care Recovery

Dear Friends and Community,

We have some very exciting news to share! After countless doctors' appointments, consultations and phone calls to insurance, Landon has been given the opportunity to have his surgey for gender affirming care moved up to July 2nd of this year! Landon is in great hands with at a world-renowned clinic in San Francisco and we're grateful that this date has come sooner than exepected!

While the date moving up is welcome and exciting news, this accelerated timeline comes some unexpected challenges. The surgery requires him to stay in the ICU for nearly a week followed by another week in a nearby hotel for recovery. After that, we are fortunate to have family in the Bay Area where we can continue his recovery process.

We are reaching out to our community for support during this time. The costs for hotel accommodations and essential expenses like food, transportation and medical supplies add up really quickly especially in downtown San Francisco. Landon's original date was scheduled for late this fall and we thought we had more time to save and allocate our funds accordingly. We currently need about $2,750 to cover these immediate expenses so that I can fully focus on being his caregiver and ensuring he has the support he needs during this critical recovery period.

Landon is a devoted husband, father, and a beloved leader in our community. As the Chair of Tranz Central Coast—the longest-standing trans-serving organization on California’s Central Coast—he works tirelessly to ensure that trans people are treated with the dignity, respect, and rights they deserve. He shows up for others with unwavering commitment, and now it’s our turn to show up for him. Landon is an unfailing beacon of joy and optimism, always finding light even in difficult times and lending that to others when they need it. I feel incredibly lucky to be by his side during this, and any, moment. Though the road to recovery is long, I know his tenacity and the love and support of his community will carry him through.
