This is Landon Mcmillian my brother he is 23 yrs old he is part autistic part Asperger's. He had to have surgery to take out his appendix and while doing so something happened in surgery and after a few days his colon or bowel started leaking and and caused abscesses and infection in his abdomen he was like that for 5 1/2 days went back to the hospital and his stomach was so extended he could not tolerate the pain they did a CT scan and he had a lot of fluid in his abdomen they did a emergency surgery when they opened him up they said he sounded like a pop can and when they went in and looked around there was infection and poop all through his abdomen it was a 2 1/2 hr surgery and when they cleaned him out and put in 4 JP drains and left his incision open and were done they put him on a respirator for 3 days and 72 hrs were critical they said that if we had waited until the next following day he would not have made it. He finally got off of the respirator. Went to a step down unit after being in ICU for 4 days. After the 6th day he started having some complications He got C Diff his lipids went up and started running a fever again one of his JP drains started looking funky and we were told everything was ok they did not change his bandage from his incision for 7 days And when they changed it, there was some black and they told me that it was his sutures they changed it once a day and his fever kept getting higher and 2 more of his JP drains started looking like it was infection they still said it was ok. He was getting weaker And then told us he had pancreatitis so the family demanded him to be transferred to Forsyth. We finally got to Forsyth and they started changing his incision four times a day because of the infection and dead tissue that they told me where his sutures they put him on another antibiotic there treating him for the C diff and the the infection that's draining from his tubes.
