Hello everyone, my name is Lance.

This is not easy for me to write. I have always been someone who figures things out on my own and carries whatever I’m going through quietly. Asking for help publicly is uncomfortable and humbling, but right now I do not have another option.

In early December 2025, I was unexpectedly let go from my job. Since then, I have been doing everything I can to stay afloat. I have gone through my savings trying to cover rent and basic living expenses. Unemployment insurance helps, but it barely covers my rent, which leaves almost nothing for food, medical needs, or caring for my rescue dog, Cheerio.

Right now, I am in a position where I have to choose between prioritizing my health or keeping a roof over my head. I am choosing to stay housed, but that choice has come at a cost.

I have lived with Atopic Dermatitis, also known as eczema, for many years. Recently, my condition has escalated from moderate to severe. What used to be manageable flare ups have turned into constant inflammation, open and painful skin, intense itching, swelling, and visible irritation on my legs, hands, and face.

Basic daily tasks have become physically painful. Sleeping is difficult. Showering burns. Walking can be uncomfortable. The treatments, specialized creams, prescriptions, and skin care products required to manage severe eczema are expensive, especially without comprehensive health coverage. When the condition is this severe, there is no such thing as cutting corners.

The stress of unemployment has only made the flare ups worse. It has been mentally and physically exhausting. I am doing my best to stay strong, apply for jobs, and take care of myself, but I am running out of resources.

If you are able to contribute, even a small amount, it would go directly toward rent, food, medical appointments, prescriptions, and basic necessities while I work toward getting back on my feet. If you cannot donate, sharing this would mean just as much.

This is a temporary chapter in my life, not the end of my story. I am determined to recover, rebuild, and come back stronger. I just need a little help getting through this moment.
