In May 2015, my husband was diagnosed with stage IV lung cancer and was given 2 months to live, 10 days after our wedding. Almost 10 years of sacrifices have challenged our marriage, which involved his long fight.
Against all odds, he beat it. Not only the initial diagnosis but 3 years after fighting his cancer metastasized with 3 small tumors in his brain. It’s been a long fight of endless tests, pain, and living on oral chemotherapy treatment which has diminished his quality of life immensely. My husband has always been a stubborn fighter, and he just proved that one more time.
Sadly, last month he got very sick and ended up with a severe case of pneumonia which led to a fight ARDS needed to be put on life support for days (ventilator and ECMO). He ended up in an induced coma for almost 4 weeks. It’s been tough for him to know, process, and understand everything that happened to him when his body was fighting to heal and beat against an aggressive illness.
He's determined to prove anything is possible, no matter your situation. He has a long way to make a full recovery, he needs intensive physical therapy, occupational therapy, and speech therapy.
Right now, I’m unable to work, I’ve been taking care of him, and he will need me by his side during his time of rehabilitation, we need to relieve the financial and medical needs of my wonderful sister-in-law who’s been taking care of this burden for years.
All the funds raised will help us to cover his medical and financial needs.
