Support Lance and Lil Lance's Recovery Journey

Hi, my name is Lance. Writing this is breaking me from every angle possible, but I have to pour my heart out to my community because my family and I REALLY need your support. Many of you know, we’ve been in and out of the hospital due to my 3-year old son’s congenital heart defects. In December, I had to leave my employment, in order to be physical, emotionally & mentally available for my son, as he was in critical condition awaiting heart surgery. His mother works full time, as I’ve been trained to care for him full time, so one of his parents was home with him full time. With that being said, I’ve been utilizing options, such as delivering food and groceries, to make money around our schedules to make ends meet. The accident happened on 04/12/25. I was delivering food to make the rest of the funds I needed for our rent. We began experiencing unforeseen weather, and I lost control of the car, fishtailed around the turn, and crashed into the tree head-on. I have experienced a lot of mean criticism from my community for having my son out, but the weather changed midday & when you need to make funds for your family’s basic needs, you find employment that works with what you’re able to do. I have a shattered knee, a broken femur on my right leg, and two lacerations across my left eyebrow. My son, unfortunately, has a hematoma on his head. He was admitted for two days to keep an eye on his heart because of his past history and recent open-heart surgery back in January. I had surgery done on my knee, and I have about 18 stitches on my face. I'm not the one to ask for anything, but I don't know what else to do. My recovery time is 6-8 months, and my sons recovery time should only be 1 month; however, due to my son being on Aspirin to prevent blood clots in his heart because of his congestion heart failure, his healing time is estimated to be over 3 months. We have medical appointments, need someone to come to my home for a few hours a day to physical care for me & my son, in addition, to prescriptions & bills. Anything helps my situation, even if it's just a share to get the word out. I appreciate all. A little bit of our backstory Our son, Lil Lance was born with congenital heart defects. He has dorv and tetrology of fallot with pulmonary atresia, double the coronary arteries, was missing a blood vessel, a mild leak in his tricuspid valve, his bottom right ventricle not fully formed. At 6 months old had his first open heart surgery at which they closed 2 of the 3 holes in his heart and placed an artificial blood vessel. He was on a wait list for a partial heart transplant at which they could use a blood vessel from someone else's heart that would grow with him. The leak in his tricuspid valve over time has become now more severe causing his bottom right ventricle to not only fully form but now be enlarged and starting to press up against his sternum as well as causing a blockage in his main pulmonary artery. On Dec. 18th he had a tacticardia episode while playing started crying saying his chest hurts, turned blue and said he was tired and fell asleep. He was rushed to garnet health and then transported down to NY Presbyterian morgan Stanley childrens hospital. He's no longer able to wait for the transplant. The plan was to go in on Dec 30 for open heart surgery and replace the artificial blood vessel, repair the tricuspid valve and hope his heart relaxes the relieve the pulmonary artery blockage. But he spiked a fever while being here so the surgeon didnt feel comfortable going in and now wants a ct scan on his heart, abdomen and pelvis. Lil Lance went for open heart surgery on 1/3/25 and a second open heart surgery on 1/13/25. The surgeon had to patch his mitral valve with a larger patch than expected due to soft tissue in the area after the operation Lance developed a pneumothorax and needed a second chest tube placed on the right side. His eco on Wednesday showed that the surgery did not help his pulmonary hypertension so the pressure is still pretty high on the right side of his heart. The pulmonary hypertension specialist is supposed to come evaluate and discuss with us what the next plan will be. Whether they can go by previous tests or will he need to go back in for another cardiac cath to see if there is a blockage in his blood vessels to his lungs as well as whether it will only need to be treated with medication. He still has both chest tube's in. The one has drained the same amount for the last 4 days so we aren't sure when they will remove them. He develops a fever once every 24hrs with no explanation as to why. We slowly see him improve each day eating, drinking and getting out of bed taking a few steps. We were released from the hospital from his heart surgery on January 22 2025 and have been working towards achieving better heath since.
