Support Lana during this tragic loss.

My sister Lana is 19 and very responsible. She worked as a CNA; she was a great employee and even received awards due to her dedication, compassionate nature, and great care to patients. On 9-27-24, she was attacked at work by a patient while 7 months pregnant. She was hospitalized for 4 days, then was sent home. She was put on bed rest due to the incident. She was told she would be getting worker’s compensation and had been waiting for a check. After so many weeks, she called and was told she was denied compensation, saying that the incident had nothing to do with being on bed rest. Since the incident, she has had to move back in with our parents due to financial hardships.

On December 1st, 2024, at 39 weeks pregnant, she had to have an emergency c-section due to the baby being in distress. Lailani was airlifted to UNC hospitals where, unfortunately, she passed away later that day. This has caused a lot of stress, pain, and suffering to my sister.
