Help Lamont Carver Fight Stage 4 Cancer and Rare Blood Di
Donation protected
Hi, my name is Jennifer Matthews, and I’m organizing this fundraiser on behalf of Lamont Carver, a beloved father, mentor, and community leader who is now facing the fight of his life.
About 15 months ago, Lamont began experiencing serious medical issues, and after a long and painful diagnostic process, he was diagnosed with TTP (Thrombotic Thrombocytopenic Purpura) — a rare and life-threatening blood disorder. Over the last year, he’s endured weekly chemotherapy, long hospital stays (up to 6 weeks at a time), and even a full blood plasma reset involving 14 bags of plasma.
Just as things began to stabilize, Lamont’s PSA levels spiked, and after months of waiting for a biopsy, doctors confirmed what no one ever wants to hear — Stage 4 prostate cancer. He is now preparing to start radiation treatments five days a week, and the physical and emotional toll has been unimaginable.
Lamont has always been the one helping others. For the past 15 years, he’s volunteered his time coaching youth basketball and working as an instructional aide at both the junior high and high school in San Rafael, CA. He’s made a lasting impact on so many kids, giving his time, patience, and heart to guide them on and off the court.
Now it’s our turn to show up for Lamont.
What the Funds Will Be Used For:
• Basic living expenses (rent, utilities, groceries)
• Transportation to and from daily radiation treatments
• Meal preparation and support at home
• Medical-related costs not covered by insurance
• Bridge gap while he awaits Social Security Disability, as he has maxed out State Disability Insurance and currently has no income
Lamont is strong, but no one should have to go through this alone. Every donation, no matter the size, will make a direct and meaningful difference in his daily life and recovery journey.
If you can’t donate, please consider sharing this fundraiser with others. Let’s come together as a community — the way Lamont always has — to give back to someone who has given so much.
With heartfelt thanks,
Jennifer Matthews
