Hey everyone, my name is Lalo and I am a chef with severe ankle arthritis. I am here today to ask for help in covering my medical bill for my surgery as well as being able to afford the necessary physical therapy that I need for a proper and full recovery. For those who know me, this is my second ankle surgery and eventually in the future, I am going to need either an ankle fusion or ankle replacement surgery.

Last surgery I had, I was very fortunate to have all the expenses covered by Montefiore due to not having any health insurance.

Today, I do have health insurance. Unfortunately, despite having paid my deductible for my plan already, I still have to pay a percentage of the surgery and due to the very expensive price of the surgery, this percentage is still a high amount and a very big unforeseen expense.

This is yet another difficult time with a long recovery and not being able to afford the procedures despite now having health insurance is a huge burden in order to be able to continue doing what I love and keep cooking.

I truly appreciate the help in advance for those who are able to help with my cause!

Hola a todos, me llamo Lalo y soy chef con artritis severa de tobillo. Estoy aquí hoy para pedirles ayuda para cubrir los gastos médicos de mi cirugía, así como para poder costear la fisioterapia necesaria para una recuperación completa y adecuada. Para quienes me conocen, esta es mi segunda cirugía de tobillo y, en el futuro, necesitaré una fusión o un reemplazo de tobillo.

La última cirugía que tuve, tuve la suerte de que Montefiore cubriera todos los gastos, ya que no tenía seguro médico.

Hoy sí tengo seguro médico. Desafortunadamente, a pesar de haber pagado el deducible de mi plan, todavía tengo que pagar un porcentaje de la cirugía y, debido a su alto precio, este porcentaje sigue siendo una cantidad elevada y un gasto imprevisto muy grande.

Este es otro momento difícil con una larga recuperación, y no poder costear los procedimientos a pesar de tener seguro médico es una gran carga para poder seguir haciendo lo que me apasiona: cocinar.
