How many times do we hear "expect the unexpected?" We hear it, we say it, but until the "unexpected" arrives at your door uninvited, unwelcomed, and barges in, we learn in that moment what that statement truly means. So, should we live in the unexpected dwelling in fear? NO! There's no "living" in fear... You must simply live. The fact is we should be in the moment because the very moment you read this is what’s real. My best friend, my chosen sister, Laura (lovingly known as LaLa) has found herself invaded by "the unexpected" Stage 3C Colon Cancer. If you know her you would say she's one of the strongest souls, you know. You would know she is a single mother of four beautiful souls, she has dedicated the very air in her lungs to, sacrificed not only for them, but those who have the honor of being her family and "framily" (our chosen family). Lala worked full-time (over-time) while taking college courses achieving her Bachelors-Degree, all while maintaining a stable household, and remaining her children’s "constant". I have witnessed her strength during some dark storms, no matter how loud the thunder is, how intense the lightning is, no matter the hurricane strength winds, when the sun reveals itself, you will find her still standing holding down the foundation she has worked so hard to build. It is an honor to be a part of her circle, to bare witness to someone consistently thriving throughout the challenges life brings. Sadly, here we are witnessing the "Cancer" of CANCER... It does not care who she is, where she has been, what she has already endured, who she loves, and who loves her. Cancer cares for no one. I want you to know that she is her kid’s superhero and the certainly still need her, I need her, "we" need her... The world needs a "Lala". We are asking for all of you to give a gift to help her to focus on fighting the battle of her life. Part of beating Cancer is mental wellbeing and avoiding any additional stress outside of the war taking place in your body. Unfortunately during this time, she has had to delay accepting a wonderful career opportunity for the next several months, all while trying to hold onto the very foundation she has built. You get what you give in this life... No gift is too small. Thank you in advance and please SHARE! SHARE! SHARE!
