On January 8, 2026, a serious apartment fire broke out in the Lakeland neighborhood of Baltimore, impacting four units and displacing multiple families. Baltimore City firefighters battled the blaze, and thankfully no injuries were reported, but the loss to these homes has been tremendous.
Among those affected are two local families with four school-aged children — three of whom attend Lakeland Elementary/Middle School. Overnight, these parents and kids lost essential belongings, winter clothes, school supplies, and the comforts of home.
These families are strong, resilient members of our community, but right now they need our help. We’re raising funds to support them with:
Temporary housing and utilities
Warm clothing and winter gear
School supplies and backpacks
Household essentials (furniture, bedding, kitchen items)
Any unexpected expenses during this difficult transition
No one should have to rebuild on their own after a crisis like this. Every dollar donated will go directly to these families to help them recover and get back on their feet.
Please donate and share — let’s show these kids and their parents how much our community cares.
Thank you for your support.
