Hey everyone! I am Lainey Beth and my mom is Chelsea Mason. We are from Forsyth, Ga and I was born on January 9th, 2025. After my mommy and I had skin to skin for about 45 minutes the nurse noticed I was grunting which was not so good for my breathing. They checked my oxygen and rushed me to NICU to get me the help I needed. After many hours, tests, and obstacles they finally decided it was best for me to go to the Children’s Hospital of Atlanta to their NICU facility where I could get the better care I needed and possibly get on the ECMO machine. Once I was transported and gave everyone a good scare once I arrived I was able to stay strong enough for a little while and they decided to get me on the ECMO machine to give my lungs a good rest and help my heart not work as hard. Since I have been on the ECMO machine I have shown progress. My mom has been able to stay with me every day and night. We miss my big brother, Weston, who just turned 5, and my big sister, Savannah, who is 3. They are very excited for me to get better and come home! While my mom is with me in the hospital and due to her recovery of my birth she is unable to work for 6 weeks on top of however long I choose to stay here.
As I am with Lainey Beth I am limited to where I can go and what I can do. That includes even DoorDash to make extra money for bills and necessities. While I am being well taken care of here with Lainey I am still left with my bills at home as well as having to come up with a plan to see my older children and be with Lainey as much as possible. Again I am fully capable of working once my 6 weeks are up from my maternity leave and healing time. But I was also unemployed before I had Lainey due to some pregnancy complications. I was receiving financial help from her father but now I have not been able to. I am creating this account purely for those who have asked to help and offered to help. Since I currently have what we need here and I have help with my older children as of right now my main concern is my bills being paid so we don’t lose car insurance, the house we rent, electricity for the house, and my phone bill to be able to communicate with family and the doctors. It is unknown at this time how long Lainey will be here so we are praying and giving her all the patience she needs to heal and get stronger to get home to Bubba and Sissy! I ask that everyone continues to pray for our sweet baby girl and for God to be with her through this tough time she has had in the first few days of her life already. I am also looking into assistance from the state to help me with our situation. I am never one to ask for money without paying it back. At this time I am unable to do that so I am asking for donations to help us get through this obstacle so when we come home I am able to find work and get us back on our feet. We appreciate every single one of you! Your prayers have always been appreciated and they are being answered!
