Support Laila's Art Journey in Kyoto
Donation protected
Hello! My name is Laila Burke-Graves, and I am a junior at the University of Michigan, pursuing a double degree in Art & Design and Asian Studies. I have been given an incredible opportunity to study abroad in Kyoto for five months, where I will be immersed in the art of Oil Painting at Kyoto Seika University.
This experience is a dream come true, as it will allow me to deepen my artistic skills, study Japan’s rich art history firsthand, and take one step closer to my ultimate goal of becoming an animated film director. However, studying abroad comes with many financial challenges.
Since I am not allowed to work while in Japan, I will be responsible for covering all my expenses, including:
School materials (paints, brushes, canvases, and more)
Transportation (daily commute and travel for cultural excursions)
Daily meals and living essentials (groceries, toiletries, and basic needs)
Housing costs (dorm)
I am reaching out for support to help make this opportunity possible. Any contribution, big or small, would mean the world to me and help me focus on making the most of my time abroad. Even if you’re unable to donate, sharing this page would be greatly appreciated!
Thank you so much for your kindness and support! I can’t wait to share my journey and artwork with you all.
With gratitude,
Laila Burke-Graves
