Hi my name is Audrey, and I’m creating this GoFundMe for my niece Laila, who suffered a Stroke.

On June 17th, 2022, my sister Kristen brought my niece Laila to the emergency room due to a headache, dizziness and blurred vision. What my sister thought was a severe migraine, had turned into our family’s worse nightmare.

Laila has suffered from PICA (Posterior Inferior Cerebellum Artery) Stroke. This is the portion of the brain that controls her balance. It has fully affected her entire left side of her cerebellum. This part of her brain is now dead.

As of now she in the ICU and will stay here for 7-10 days. She will be monitored every hour for neural assessment. Swelling is being closely monitored, as the Stroke was very close to her brain stem.

June 18th, 2022, her morning CT show's increased swelling. They will continue to monitor. If swelling increases more, she could have to have a Craniotomy to help relieve swelling.

This will be a very long and expensive road to recovery for Laila. As Kristen will have to take some work days off, not to mention the bills for the hospital stay/ treatments and lots therapy for Laila once she strong enough.

All funds in this GoFundMe will go to Kristen, so she can focus on Laila recovery.
