Support Laid Off Workers of Taz Indian Cuisine

Hey everyone:

My favorite restaurant in #Bryan / #CollegeStation, Taz Indian Cuisine, had to temporarily close due to COVID-19 and in doing so, were forced to lay off their wait staff.

ALL of the laid off workers are immigrants, which means they are disqualified from collecting the unemployment benefits that are saving some service industry workers right now.

We used to go to this restaurant literally once a week. Yes the food is amazing. But the people are even better. It broke my heart to speak to Karla today (far left) and learn that she and everyone other server (Sangitha, Rita, Karla, Sagar, and Jothi) had been laid off. These are seriously some of the sweetest people I’ve ever met.

Donate at the link below to give DIRECTLY to the laid off workers. Or you can support the business when they open up again for curbside pickup tomorrow. They have promised Karla to rehire her and the others when things get back to normal.

#BrazosCounty is lucky to have a good culinary scene. That doesn’t happen by accident. That’s thanks to folks from a variety of backgrounds and cultures.
