Hello! My name is Nelia Nacelli. I am launching this GoFundMe to help with my mom’s upcoming chemotherapy sessions. Her oncologist recommended to start the treatment as early as July 15th, or whenever her AST (a liver enzyme) level has returned to normal.

My mother, Lady Lani, is only 50 years old and currently residing in the Philippines. Months before, she felt a lump in her upper abdomen. Tests and radiological scans were performed. The results revealed that she has five nodules on her liver, ranging from 4cm to 7cm in size. It was also found that cancer cells have already spread to her lungs. Samples were taken for biopsy, and the diagnosis was consistent with mucinous adenocarcinoma. Despite all this, the cancer source has not been identified still. Therefore, the doctor ordered blood tests for other tumor markers (CA-125, CA19-9, and CEA). After testing, the cancer source has been found, and it was confirmed that my mother has stage 4 ovarian cancer.

My mom is currently the primary caretaker of my two siblings who both have moderate to severe intellectual disabilities. With her diagnosis and present health condition, it will be difficult for her to take care of them. My father passed away when my

siblings and I were still very young, so right now, my younger siblings depend solely on our mother. Her current partner also cares for them too, but I do not want to pass the responsibility on to him because my siblings are not biologically his. Right now, I will be the one to take on the responsibility for my mother’s treatment, but we all know that the costs associated with cancer treatment can instantly become overwhelming. Thus, I am asking for your support to ease some of the financial burden that we will face when the treatment starts.
