Creating this GoFundMe is something I never imagined I’d be doing for my best friend, but life always has a way of being so unbelievably unfair. For those who may not know, Laci was recently diagnosed with a rare form of bone marrow blood cancer called myelofibrosis. This diagnosis comes with treatments that will place a financial burden not only on her, but her parents as well. Laci’s parents should be able to be by her side during every appointment without financials being a worry. By donating to this fund, we can help Laci’s parents navigate some of the financial burdens created by taking time away from work to be with their daughter.

On top of this, some of the chemotherapy medications Laci needs are toxic to her eggs, making IVF her only available safe option for future children. Unfortunately, the cost of fertility preservation and IVF is not covered by insurance, adding an overwhelming financial strain during an already heartbreaking time.

I’m creating this GoFundMe in hopes that those who love and care for Laci can come together to help lift some of this burden. No one deserves to face something like this, especially someone who has spent years caring for others even while facing her own hardships.
