Dear friends, family, & kind hearts,
My name is Amy Bredeson. I am reaching out today with a heavy heart but also with hope and determination. My dear friend Lacie, a loving single mom, has recently been diagnosed with a rare and aggressive stage 2 breast cancer. As she begins this challenging journey, she needs our support now more than ever.
If you’ve had the privilege of knowing Lacie, you know she is more than just an incredible friend—she is a devoted mother to her daughter, Harlowe; a dedicated social worker, and a vibrant, giving member of our community. She has always been the first to offer a helping hand, a kind word, or unwavering support to those in need. Her strength and resilience inspire all who know her. Now it’s our turn to rally around her and show her the love and support she has so generously given to others.
Lacie faces a challenging road ahead, with a year of treatment that includes chemotherapy, followed by surgery in the city. To prioritize her health, she’ll need to take time off work, adding another layer of stress to an already overwhelming situation. The financial burden of cancer treatment is immense, with out-of-pocket medical expenses, necessary medications not covered by insurance or AHS, and ongoing living costs.
We are asking for your support to help ease this burden, allowing Lacie to focus fully on her treatment and recovery. Your generosity will also ensure that Lacie can continue to support Harlowe in pursuing her dreams and passions, with little impact as possible during this difficult year.
Here’s how you can help:
1. Donate: Every contribution, no matter the size, will make a significant difference. Your generosity will help cover medical expenses, living costs, and income replacement, giving Lacie peace of mind to focus on healing and caring for her daughter.
2. Share: Please share this campaign with your friends, family, and social networks. The more people who know about Lacie’s situation, the more support we can gather.
3. Offer Support: If you’re local, consider providing meals, childcare, or simply being there for her as she navigates this difficult time.
Our hope is that we can come together, as a community, to lift Lacie and Harlowe through this incredibly difficult time. Your kindness, compassion, and support can lighten their load and give them the strength to face the fight ahead.
Thank you for reading Lacie’s story and considering a donation. Your support means the world to her, Harlowe, and all of us who love them. Please share this message with others who may want to help, and let’s show Lacie she is not alone in this fight.
With heartfelt gratitude,
Amy Bredeson
