Help LA Wildfire Survivors Begin Their Recovery

The Silicon Valley Triathlon Club (SVTC) invites its members and friends to join in supporting those who have suffered major losses in the recent Los Angeles area wildfires. In a unique partnership with the Los Angeles Triathlon Club, SVTC is targeting funds directly to LA Tri Club members who have lost homes and possessions in the Palisades, Eaton, and other fires.
Your donation builds a bridge of support between the NorCal and SoCal multi-sport communities!
Funds from this campaign will purchase gift cards with Triathlon LAB, a prominent independent athletic store in Redondo Beach specializing in apparel, gear, and accessories for bicycling, swimming, and running.
LA Tri Club’s directors will distribute cards to those most in need. For example:
- A 20+ year founding member of the club and an avid volunteer at hundreds of club and endurance sports events… he tragically lost his home and triathlon gear in the Palisades fire.
- A 10+ year member who was out of town with her son when the fire erupted… she was unable to save a single possession from the rubble she returned to that was once her home.
We realize that these funds will only make a dent in replacing what people like these two LA Tri Club members have lost. We also realize that triathlon equipment is not a basic need of those affected by the fires, and there are other organizations providing food, shelter, and basic supplies. Our goal is not to take funds away from basic needs. But knowing the happiness and stability that sport brings to our lives, this endeavor is about more than the money. It is about the love and support from a broader community that these funds represent to those who have lost so much.
Our team aims to distribute $2,500 to our Southern California triathlete friends in need. Thank you for helping us in this effort.
