I grew up poor. I am the first in my family to attend college. One of the darkest times in my life was during college. I did not have enough money for food and housing. I slept in my car. I got dressed at the school gym. I struggled daily to decide whether I was going to park my car on campus for $5 or park off-campus for free so I can have enough money to eat. I barely could keep my eyes open, working three different jobs to support my family while attending school full-time. I thought about ending my life. There are many students who are suffering right now and going through what I went through. Sometimes, all it takes is some kindness from a stranger to help uplift a student's spirit and kick-start their drive. For me, that person was Jeffrey Pop, my mentor and former law partner. He saw that I was struggling and helped with no expectation in return.
As a believer of higher education, supporter of students, and in lieu of gifts, I am asking for donations to fund high school and law school scholarships for students in the greater Los Angeles Area.
I will match all donations up to $25,000.
Thank you.
