La Jolla is planning something special — a brand-new playground feature designed just for our youngest residents to explore, climb, and imagine!

Hello, I’m Eddie Stover, a La Jolla resident and father, and I’m partnering with the La Jolla Town Council in asking for your help in donating funds for a beautiful ocean-themed playground installation at the vacant spot on the north side of the La Jolla Recreation Center Playground.

Why We’re Doing This

A few months ago, our community was heartbroken when several beloved playground structures were struck by a vehicle and destroyed. What’s left behind is an empty space — but also an incredible opportunity to reimagine this area into something magical for our kids.

Target location of installation

We aim to create a vibrant, sea life–inspired play structure that celebrates our coastal heritage, fosters creativity, and gives local children a safe, joyful place to play and make memories for generations to come.

Our Goal

Our initial goal is $40,000 — enough to fund a smaller sea-creature installation perfect for climbing, photos, and imaginative play.

But if we can rally enough support and reach $100,000–$200,000, we can expand the design into a full ocean adventure zone featuring coral tunnels, slides, and interactive marine life elements.
