Support Kyrie's Fight Against Eviction

Hello my name is Kyrie, I have a 14 year old son Remi, 3 cats, George, Maya, Itty-Bitty, and 1 dog named Little Ann. I grew up in the home that I came back to 3 years ago, and am being evicted by my mother who owns the trailer solely.

It is important to state my name was put on the deed to the land when I was 3 by my papa, former Judge Robert Earl Brown so that my mother could not sell it, it would go to me, and not go through probate. My mother moved out 3 or 4 years ago. Left my two younger sisters there to live.

I have spent the past 3 years cleaning out and cleaning up this place from years of neglect from my mom and sisters. I pay my bills, take care of my son, and animals before anything else, every month.

My sisters left the place in complete disrepair, unclean, and just unhealthy to live in. The entrance room smelled like cat urine and feces from my sister's cats she neglected. It took me 3 hrs, 5 buckets of fresh water, and ripping up some carpet to get rid of the smell. Next to the toilet in one bathroom was a pile of used tampons piled so high that I'm pretty sure my sister was using them as an armrest while sitting there. They left the garage a mess, one room covered halfway up the walls, corner to corner, filled with trash, old toys, and clothes upon clothes from the past 30 years. Stuff my mother always meant to put in a yard sale and never did because it was too much effort for her.

So I took on that huge task, that has taken me months and months to go through, sort, hang up, move, take down, put up, give away, burn, or throw away, just to get rid of it all. All things I had permission to do. Months. Time away from my kid, or making money. I've put in a window in a room that hadn't seen daylight or had fresh air in nearly 35 years. The carpets are so nasty my cats stay sneezing. I've finally gotten new tongue and grove flooring to replace it. Worked on leaky roof, fixed both toilets, a sink. With so many more projects that need doing to fix it up right.

I had a friend who recently lost his brother, and father. Had a failed relationship that left him not seeing his kids, and homeless with his dog. He has a background in home remodeling and I needed the help. We came to an agreement and he moved in. When my mom found out she demands he leave. But I couldn't because I just wasn't raised like that. I'm not heartless.

She had never even met him and when she did, she didn't even acknowledge his presence or even look at him, on Easter of all days.

She then filed for eviction. And on June 3rd, she won.

A date of June 17th at noon was set. I got home, cried and cried. I recently got laid off from my job working as a Paraprofessional. My contract was not renewed for next term and I've been desperately looking for a new one.

Then I receive a letter in the mail on the 5th, stating that if I am not off the premises by that time, that the judge will immediately write a writ of possession for the possession of my share of the property and give it to my mother.

I thought I could at least stay on my property in a tent I own, til I could get a job and make other arrangements. But now, if I do I'll lose my property??

So my son, myself, and animals will literally be in the streets, with no where to go and no money to try to do anything. My son has cried, I've cried and cried.

If anyone could help, even just a little, it would mean the world to me and my son. I'm usually not the one to ask for help but I'm desperate and scared and don't know what else to do.
