Hi everyone, My name is Lillian, and I am starting this fundraiser for my sister, Emily, and her 17-year-old daughter, Kyra Green. Recently, our family received the difficult news that Kyra needs to undergo Chiari malformation decompression surgery to alleviate severe symptoms caused by a structural defect at the base of her skull. While we are incredibly thankful that insurance is covering the cost of the surgery itself, the recovery period will be long and challenging.Kyra will be facing a significant recovery period, and her mother needs to be by her side to take care of her. Her surgery is scheduled for June 26, 2026. Emily will be out of work for several weeks without pay to manage Kyra’s care, attend post-op appointments, and ensure she heals properly. We are asking for $2,500 to help alleviate financial pressure during this time. As they just bought a new home, we want to ensure that financial hardship is the last thing on their minds while focusing on Kyra’s health. Funds will go to loss of income covering essential bills while Emily is on unpaid leave.
