Help Kyra Stay On Campus By Clearing Her Outstanding Balance
Donation protected
Hello,
My name is Kyra Evans, and I am a Jamaican international student at Virginia State University, where I am currently a sophomore double majoring in Computer Science and Mathematics. I’ve been incredibly fortunate to connect with peers and network with reputable companies here, and I am deeply involved in various campus activities while maintaining a 4.0 GPA. Currently, I’m gaining valuable experience through an internship in Data Science.
However, I am facing a challenging financial situation. Despite the support of my scholarship, I still have a significant balance from last semester and am struggling to find the funds for the upcoming semester. Today, the university emailed me about my outstanding balance. I needed to clear it by Friday, July 26th to keep my housing assignment. I prayed to God for a way out. While trying to distract myself, I took to scrolling through my instagram. Mindlessly swiping through stories I saw an ad for Go Fund Me, “How to help pay for college”. I was apprehensive but what if this was the Lord showing me my way out?
Losing my mother to cancer at a young age has also been another challenge. One of her greatest dreams was for me to attend university and succeed in my studies. As I create this Go Fund Me on what would have been her birthday, I am reminded of her hopes and the legacy she left me. It is with a heavy heart and a humble spirit that I ask for your support.
I have always strived to be independent and self-reliant, and asking for help is not easy for me. However, I believe in the words of Philippians 4:13, “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.” I am committed to honoring my mother’s memory and achieving my academic goals, but I need assistance to continue.
Any contribution, no matter how small, would mean the world to me and bring me one step closer to continuing my education and fulfilling my dreams. Thank you for considering supporting my journey!
With sincere gratitude,
Kyra Evans
