Support Kyoko's Heart Surgery Journey
Donation protected
Dear Friends, Family, and Community,
We are reaching out to you with hearts full of hope and gratitude as we ask for your support for our dear friends, Marta Poveda and Col Schacht, and their sweet baby girl, Kyoko. Born in May 2024, Kyoko came into this world fighting a battle none of us could have imagined: she was diagnosed with a congenital heart defect called Transposition of the Great Arteries (TGA).
TGA is a serious condition where the main arteries of the heart are switched in position, making it difficult for oxygenated blood to reach the body. In her short life, Kyoko has already undergone multiple multiple procedures including one major surgery to correct this condition, but as she continues to grow, another surgery has become necessary to ensure her heart functions as it should.
This next surgery needs to take place out of state, and while they are fully committed to getting their daughter the care she needs, the costs are overwhelming. In addition to the surgery itself, Marta and Col will need to stay out of state for an extended period as their baby receives treatment, meaning they will face significant expenses for travel, temporary housing, and daily living costs far from home.
As many of you know, my own son was born with the same heart defect, so I understand the emotional and financial toll this situation takes on a family. Our friends have shown incredible strength, but they need our help now more than ever.
Your generosity, whether through a donation or by sharing this campaign, will go directly towards:
- Medical expenses not covered by insurance
- Travel and temporary housing costs while they are out of state
- Essential living expenses as they take time away from work to care for their daughter
- Any contribution, no matter the size, will make a tremendous difference in easing the burden on Marta and Col and allowing them to focus on what matters most: Kyoko's health and recovery.
Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for your support. Please keep Kyoko in your thoughts and prayers as she continues her fight for a healthy future.
With love and gratitude,
