Dear friends, family, and kind-hearted strangers,
My incredible mother, Kym, has recently been diagnosed with Active Myeloma. She recently underwent surgery and is about to begin an intensive 12-week chemotherapy treatment. During this time, she’ll be missing a significant amount of work, which is adding to the financial strain on top of the medical challenges.
As many of you know, the costs of battling a serious illness are immense—not just the medical bills, but also the everyday expenses that don’t pause for recovery. She is struggling to keep up with mortgage payments, utilities, and other living expenses. The financial burden is overwhelming, and without help, it’s becoming increasingly difficult for her to focus on what truly matters—her health and recovery.
This is why we’re turning to you for support. Any donation, no matter the size, will go directly toward helping her cover:
- Medical bills and treatments
- Mortgage payments
- Utility bills
- Other daily living expenses
Your generosity will allow her to focus on healing without the constant stress of how to keep up with everyday life. If you’re unable to donate, sharing this page and keeping her in your thoughts and prayers would mean the world to us.
Thank you for taking the time to read her story, and thank you in advance for any help you can provide.
ONE YEAR+ UPDATE
First and foremost, Kym and our family want to extend our deepest gratitude for your incredible kindness, generosity, and support over this past year. Your words, prayers, and donations have meant the world to us and have helped Mom stay strong through an incredibly difficult journey.
This past year, Kym completed a full year of chemotherapy through a clinical trial at the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute in Boston, MA. For the first three months, she traveled twice a week for treatments, and once a week thereafter. The treatments unfortunately did not bring her cancer numbers down as much as we’d hoped.
Midway through the year, Kym faced another life-threatening challenge — a serious car accident in May that left her with significant injuries. Her car rolled several times before landing in the woods, and emergency responders had to use the jaws of life to free her. She underwent surgery and spent 14 weeks recovering, which forced her to pause chemotherapy for two months. Some treatments were delayed up to 6 months post surgery.
However, Kym’s resilience and determination remain unshaken. In September, she was accepted into a new international clinical trial for Multiple Myeloma through Dana-Farber — a promising new opportunity that gives us renewed hope.
After such a challenging year, we’re staying optimistic for better results and brighter days ahead. Thank you, from the bottom of our hearts, for continuing to stand by Kym’s side on this journey. Your love and support truly make all the difference.
